Thank you for your help mate! It's a FLI complete enclosure with the amp and sub in one box! I understand the low level way of doing it! But the high level is a little plug in with 5 short wires out the end of it, I think the fifth might be a ground

that's right t off the rear speaker wires on the phone harness with more speaker cable to the hi level inputs on the amp.

then wire the sub to the amps speaker outputs

no rca's or converter needed this way

what sub is it its hard to say what that wire may be at a guess its the remote wire which turns the amp on it needs to be connected to a switched 12v wire so the amp turns on when the stereo is turned on

Thanks very much for your reply, could I just clarify then if I was to use the phone harness method would I then just use ordinary speaker cable that connects to my alternative connection on the sub? instead of using the rca cables? Also the high level input adapter that came with the sub has five wires (presuming four are for speaker cable) I don't suppose you know what the fifth is the for?

Hi I was wondering if you could help me as you seem to know your stuff regarding the audio in the mk7 zetec s. my dad has bought me a sub/amp enclosure for Christmas and we are struggling where we connect the 'rca converter' I am gathering that it is spliced into the rear speaker wires and the then the rca cables supplied with the sub connect to that? if that makes sense? Otherwise it also came with a 'High level input' wire for use with head units without rca outputs?

Yes mate, clearly not very well I thought bags but I suppose the bags are likely to vibrate too? Maybe I'll be better buying some proper underlay?

Sorry worded that wrong, the connection has come loose, guessing vibration made the spade fall out, shame they do not have aftermarket connectors. While I have the door cards off again I was tempted to put some wool behind there? Would it be a waste of time? Family friend has tons of it he doesn't want and said I could have it? Not really sure how id go about it I was tempted to just pack out the cavity and put the card back on? What would you suggest? Thanks a lot for your help and sorry I'm slow replying.

Hi mate, finally got them fitted. one of the rears has come loose, so I now need to remove all the bloody trim again at some point whats the best way to make sure they stay in for good?

really pleased with the speakers though, all sound fantastic. couldn't believe how much difference the twitters make to the overall sound.
